I have been playing around with cake lately. This is just a chocolate cake. I just bought a box mix because it was the fondant I really cared about. I like the way the flower turned out!! My next project is marshmallow fondant. I will probably be working on that tomorrow so I will let you all know how it goes!!

Well life around here has been crazy as usual!!! After we came home from our trip to California, about a month ago, Preston got sick. It seemed to be just a bad cold that lasted about a week and then he got better. Izzy then got a small cold and was over it quick. Well then about 3 weeks ago Lysander got sick. He had a nasty cough so I took him to the E.R. and he was diagnosed with croup. We took him home and started treating him but 3 days later he was only getting worse. So I took him to his doctor and he was diagnosed with strep throat. He was on antibiotics for 10 days, saw a little improvement, and then got worse. Sooo I took him back to the doctor and they tested him for strep again, said he still had it and put him on new medicine. Well he only got worse from there. So three days later I took him back to the doctor. The doctor looked him over a little and said she was going to send us to the E.R. Yikes!!! We got to the E.R. and they ran a bunch of tests and said they though it may be pneumonia but they were going to transfer him to a different hospital and admit him!! It was sooo scary. Here he is on the ambulance gurney. He was so brave! Well after another night and day in the hospital he was diagnosed with parainfluenza which is a virus that causes upper and lower respiratory infections. There is no cure but he is doing so much better all ready. But now it looks like Emma is coming down with it. Ughhh no rest for the mommy!! So that is what I have been doing for the last 3 weeks. Taking care of sickies. Oh not to mention I got it about 2 weeks ago and am still suffering but God has mercy and I am still keeping up!!

It has been forever since I have blogged. I had such good intentions but as always life has been crazy!! Preston got laid off from his job 3 weeks ago. We knew it was coming so it wasn't to bad. We decided to take a celebratory trip so we headed to Disneyland!!!! It was a blast. We are now headed off on a new career path that has tons of potential. We are just praying like crazy it works out! Isabella had her 5th birthday. She had a blast as usual. Now we are preparing to celebrate Emmas 3rd birthday and Lysanders 1st!! Wow how time flies. The pictures in this post are totally unrelated to the thoughts but I hate posting without pictures, so here are some random pictures of the kids at Halloween!! I have been doing a lot of thinking about food lately. I love to eat and cook but I fluctuate between healthy and not so healthy eating. Its so confusing sometimes. But lately I have not felt so great which I know is from some unhealthy eating.

There are so many different points of view out there on what is healthy and not. Its sooo frustrating. But after much research I have come up with my own healthy eating plan for the new year. I am going to try to eat at least 51% raw fruits and vegetables. This will come in the form of juice and just plain produce. I will do my best to make it organic. I am going to start shopping for local organic produce much more often.

Nothing is off limits to my eating but I will try to limit processed food and sugar and things like that. I love the recipes and philosophy of Ellie Krieger so I am getting all her cookbooks. I am going to drink a ton more water and start working out and doing yoga. Hopefully this will lead me on the road to great health!! So what are all your health goals for 2010. I went to the farmers market today in my first step to eating locally. I got some fresh eggs, raw honey, organic green chile, and some oyster mushrooms. We sampled it all and it was delicious!! So heres to happy healthy eating for all!!

I have been doing something called the grocery game for the last few months. It has saved us so so much money on groceries. Yesterday I went to Albertsons and got one 13lb brisket, 6 roasts, 6 petite sirloin steaks, a huge pack of boneless skineless chicken breasts, and a huge pack of pork chops. I got all this for $115. Anyone out there who buys a lot of meat knows this is a steal!! If you sign up you get a four week free trial so it is totally worth is. Go here and check it out. Hi Everyone!! I hope everyone had a fun and safe New Years Eve. One of my resolutions this year is to blog more so hopefully this will be the first post of many. And what better way to start the year than with food!! I tried a new recipe for breakfast this morning. It is by Ellie Krieger from the Food Network. It was delicious. So I haven't been great about posting these month updates. Blame Facebook!! Anyway Lysander turned 8 months on December 15th. I am amazed at how fast he is growing. It seems like he just started crawling and already he is standing up. I know walking is right around the corner! He doesn't have any teeth yet and he still doesn't sleep through the night. But thats ok. It will come in time. He makes the funniest faces which I hope to post some on in his next blog post. We all just love him to pieces of course.

What are those you ask? Those are nine little jars of homemade jalapeno jelly! It is my first attempt ever at canning something. It turned out wonderfully. The jelly is so sweet and delish with a great spicy kick at the end. I am so looking forward to eating it on some crackers with cream cheese. Mmmmm. You can find the recipe here

Thursday: pasta! I have some noodles, a can of artichoke hearts, mushrooms, heavy cream and some fresh parmesan so I am going to make something with that!

Friday: Eat out at seaworld!!!

Saturday: Tacos with ground beef and black beans

Sunday: Spaghetti with ground beef. I know we are having spaghetti twice but we have some things to get rid of and everyone loves it!

Another month has come and gone. Lysander is now four months old. I am loving every minute of him. For some reason I am much more laid back with him than I was with the girls. Its so fun. So here are some four month facts about him!

1. He rolled over from tummy to back for the first time on August 3rd.

2. He rolled back to tummy for the first time on August 15th.

3. He rolls a lot now

4. If you lay him on his back he can move all over now by rolling and scooting.

5. He isn't sleeping through the night but I don't really want him to because I love our nightly cuddles.

6. He is still very very smiley all the time!

The girls really really love him.

Today is Lysanders three month birthday!! He is such a good little baby. Here are some things about him at 3 months!

1. He is such a smiley baby. He is always smiling at us.

2. He laughed out loud for the first time last week.

3. He still sleeps in my room and sometimes in my bed and he loves to cuddle.

4. He loves Izzy so much and she can always get the biggest smiles from him.

5. He is sleeping about a 5 hour stretch at night which is great for me.

6. I absolutely adore him!!

This post may be a little detailed and wordy, but I am mostly writing it for myself. I really want to remember this day in detail. So Tuesday, June 1st started out like any other day. The kids and I got up, had breakfast, and started cleaning the house up. Then my mom called to tell me that my grandparents were in town and would be stopping by to visit me. We all anxiously awaited their arrival. At about one o' clock Emma went down for a nap and Izzy laid on the couch to watch some TV. She soon fell asleep. She awoke at two, complaining that she felt "dry all over". I felt her head and she felt very hot. I took her temperature and it registered at 101. I gave her some motrin right away because she has been known to spike some high fevers. At 2:30 my grandparents arrived. They hung out with us until about five. During that time Izzy perked up and seemed to be feeling fine. She ran around with grandma and had a great time. At about four forty five she started complaining she was cold. She laid on the couch under a blanket and just stayed there. I saw my grandparents off and then checked her head. Her fever seemed to be coming back so I gave her a dose of tylenol. I was just hanging out keeping an eye on her because she looked like she felt really bad. At five thirty, Izzy was still laying on the couch, when all the sudden she looked up at me with this weird look on her face. I knew right away what was going to happen and I asked her if she was going to throw up. She didn't even say anything just opened her mouth and threw up all over. I ran to the kitchen to grab the trash can and as I was headed back she threw up again. Thats when it happened. All of the sudden her face went pale as milk. Her eyes were open but they were blank like she was gone. Her body went totally rigid and contorted into a weird position. She just started seizing. I screamed at Preston that she was having a seizure and then I picked her up in a panic. I totally should not have done that because that caused her to choke on the vomit in her mouth. I laid her down and her lips were blue. I knew she wasn't breathing. Preston ran out with Lysander in his arms, he quickly put the baby on the floor. He sat down next to Izzy and checked her breathing. I am not sure what he did next because I went to call 911, but I know he stuck his finger in her mouth. Another no no, and I guess she bite him good. So I got on the phone with 911 and was a hysterical mess. By then Izzy was breathing but just barely. The operator kept asking me if she was still breathing and Preston would have to listen really close and watch her chest real carefully to see her breath. He kept shaking her and trying to keep her awake because she was trying to pass out. Then she started seizing again. After telling me to calm down I was able to give the 911 operator our address but then my cell phone died. I called back on Prestons phone and a very nice man kept me on the phone until the fireman arrived. When the fireman arrived I was shocked at how many of them there were. Right when they got there some neighbors of ours came up to help us out. I went outside to talk to them and they prayed with me and took the other kids. When I went back inside my tiny Isabella was lying on the floor with this huge oxygen mask on her face and all 10 of these huge fireman were surrounding her. I lost it again. That was the saddest and hardest thing I have ever seen. After checking her out the fireman told us we could take her to the er in our car and they would escort us. Izzy was still really out of it at this point. We took her to the hospital where they started to run a bunch of tests. Izzy slowly came out of the seizure but it was weird because I guess having a seizure really messes with your mind so she was doing all kinds of weird things. Like her jaw was locked for a litte while so she couldn't talk and her pupils were dilating all weird. Anyway after 4 or 5 hours she was doing much better. Turns out she had strep throat which caused a fever which caused a febrile seizure. She had her first xray, IV, and CT scan that day. She was amazing through the whole thing. She is such a trooper she only cried once during the IV and she has no memory of the seizure at all. I was such a mess for so long over the whole thing and I realized that this is the first traumatic thing that I have ever experienced in my life. When I was younger my Dad was doing some construction at a cemetary. I went with him one day and I got to go into the morgue. When Izzy wasn't breathing she looked just like the dead bodies I saw that day. It was so horrific. I really want to always remember that day because I really realized how precious life is. I could have lost her in just a matter of minutes. I am so thankful that God spared her life. A few days later Emma also came down with strep and was a very sick little girl. I am so happy to report that everyone is all better today!!

Wow I can't believe it has been so long since I posted here. Well as most everyone knows, we had our baby. Little Lysander was born on April 15th at 5:45 p.m. Weighing in at 7lbs 8ozs. I ended up being induced and had a great labor. He came fast. I only pushed for 7 minutes!! He is 2 months old now and is getting so big. Here are a couple of pictures of him over the last couple months. He is a great baby and is sleeping through the night already!!! I will be posting some more posts very soon so keep an eye out!

Emmas Bday

Emmas birthday was so much fun. We just had a little family party for her. Izzy helped me make a yummy strawberry chocolate cake, which is what Emma had requested. Emma had such a great time opening presents and eating her cake. She kept making the cutest face, like she coouln't believe this was all for her. She is such a sweet happy little girl. If you notice in her pics she is wearing a puppy dog costume. She wears it all the time. She loves to pretend she is a little puppy! Happy second birthday to my sweet little girl!!!

Wow, I can't believe my little girl turns four tomorrow. I know it sounds cliche' but it has gone so so fast. It seems just yesterday that I brought her home from the hospital. She was such a sweet tiny little baby. We were buddies from the very beginning. Daddy went back to work and it was just me and her:) I remember holding her a lot. We would just snuggle on the couch all day and play and watch Gilmore Girls and sleep. It was such a fun bonding time. She has really grown into a sweet smart girl. She is so caring, if someone is crying she will always run up and comfort them. She carries a notebook around with her and loves to draw and write in it. Yesterday I asked her what she was writing and she said her "compications" I asked her what that meant and I got a very long explanation that made no sense. She loves to try and use big words:) She is very social too. She loves other people and told me the other day that she wanted a big family with lots of brothers and sisters. (uh oh I better get going) She is a great big sister 90% of the time. Anyway I could go on forever but really I just wanted to say Happy Birthday to my precious 4 year old:) She loves to dance!
She loves puzzles and drawing.
These goldfish were one of her favorite gifts. She is a big fan of eating:) Like her mama.

Whew what a crazy few days it has been. But we are officially residents of Albuquerque again. Friday Preston worked 12 hours then came home and we packed the trailer and cleaned up the apartment (thanks James for all your help). Then Saturday we got up around 8 did some last minute things and left around noon. The drive to New Mexico was pretty uneventful. It takes about six and a half hours and we just took our time and had a lot of fun. We got there at around 8 and we all just crashed. Then Sunday we moved all our stuff in (thanks Caspi family u guys rock) and today we just spent unpacking! The apartment is awesome. I have a TV in my kitchen that comes with the place and I am so excited to whip up dinner while watching the food network!! We also have a pool, basketball court, gym, sand volleyball court, library, playground, and golf green at the apartment. Plus they have a scrapbooking club and a kids club that meet once a month so I should be pretty busy without having to go to far from home:) Not to mention if I walk outside and cross the street I am at the mall!! Very exciting. Anywhoo now it is like baby countdown over here. 7 weeks to go:) I will post some pics soon of our place and maybe some of my big belly!! Hope everyone is doing well.

Halloween in Cali!

This year we went to California for Halloween. Actually we went down there about a week before Halloween and Preston and I dropped the girls off and went to Vegas for our anniversary!! Whew what a couple weeks we've had. I am sick, very sick. I have been struggling to get out of bed each day. I am losing weight which is not good at 8 weeks pregnant. We seem to have a system that is getting us through. It involves 15 minute cleaning intervals which is all I can manage, Preston making dinner every night, and lots of movies. As horrible as it has been I have to say I am thankful. Thankful that I am feeling this way because a new life is growing inside me. Thankful that my children are small and still pretty content to just stay at home and sit and play with mommy. Thankful I have a understanding hubby who can cook! Thankful that I only have 7 months at the most of this yuckiness and I probably have less! I haven't got to have my first drs appointment and ultrasound yet, I am to sick to even think about going. But I have been having a few better moments so hopefully soon I can do that and I will have pics of our little blessing. So feel free to comment with funny stories and other happy things because reading them is one thing I can do from bed!!!!

medical condition

most of you don't know, but i've been having some medical issues for the past couple months. i haven't been feeling well but i've done a lot of research and seen the doctor a couple times and they've confirmed that i suffer from what nearly 6 million americans do each year. luckily there's a cure, but i have yet to experience the worst of it. in about 8 months i'm supposed to have a really hard time with this condition. luckily, if all goes well, it ends in the birth of a beautiful new addition to our family. holla!

Summer is here and like most of you we have been very busy. I am on a mission to update my blog though so look for more posts to come.

I recently got home from a trip to Chicago. I went for the National Pampered Chef conference. It was spectacular. I am totally in love with that city!!

These flowers were waiting for me when I got home. The reddish orange ones were from Preston and the girls picked out the white daisies. So sweet!

After months, ok maybe more like a year or more, I finally did it. Today I purchased Isabellas preschool homeschool curriculum. Let me tell you its been a crazy rollercoaster ride just to get to this point. First I had to make the decision whether or not to even do preschool with her or just wait until kindergarten. Then when that decision was made the undertaking to find a good curriculum for us was started. Man what a ride. I received a lot of input both good and bad about homeschooling and curriculum, but ultimately after a lot of prayer, and thinking I am sure this will be great for Isabella and our family. So now the fun begins. We are just going to take it one year at a time and we won't actually start until September, but I am so excited to see where this journey will lead!! Oh yeah and the curriculum is called Bright Beginnings if anyone is interested!!!

Man the last two weeks have been crazy!! On May 20th Prestons company told him that we would be reporting for work in Tucson, AZ on June 1st. That same day we left for vacation to Idaho. Idaho was great. We were there until May 25th and we had a blast. Then we came back to New Mexico packed our stuff and left for Tucson. We arrived here on Saturday! Now I am relaxing on the patio of our new apartment and I am loving it. Tucson is great. Our apartment is beautiful and there is so much to do in the area. I am sure I will have great stories and pictures to share. And for anyone who can't keep up we have been to Wichita, Kansas, back to Boise, then to Charlottesville, Virginia, then Albuquerque, New Mexico, and now Tucson, Arizona. La Vida Loca!!! We are having a blast.

Mothers Day

I hope all you mothers out there had a fabulous day yesterday! Mine was so much fun. The girls and Preston had a gift for me when I woke up. They had bought me some beautiful earrings, some sparkly flip flops, and a gift certificate to have my nails done. But the best part of the gift was the card. It was one of those card that you can record your voice on. So there is a message with little Izzy saying, "happy mothers day, we love you" It is so sweet. I plan on keeping it forever!

After that we went to church. Isabellas Sunday school class made a mothers day project. It was a little bag filled with all these random things and there was a little poem that said

Mommy's Love

Its almost Mothers Day. I want to show my mom I love her in a special way!

I'll put in a teddy bear. It shows how much we love to bear hug.

I'll put in a piece of gum. It shows how we always stick together.

I'll put in some nuts. They show how silly we like to be.

We finished the day off with a fun BBQ at some friends house. It was such a great time!!! I love Mothers Day because I always feel like moms don't get the credit they deserve and it was so fun to be spoiled and to spoil our moms a little!!!

Last Saturday Isabella and I got up early and set out to peruse our local garage sales. I was hoping to stumble upon a cheap table that I could use as a desk. I am starting to put more time into my Pampered Chef business and I really wanted a place of my own. I came across a few tables that would work but they were way overpriced. Then at the very last sale we went to I found it.......

Isn't it beautiful. It was love a first sight. The little elderly woman selling it was so sweet. The desk looks almost exactly like a desk my mother had for as long as I can remember. It is solid oak and has the roll down top, which I love. The top also has a lock and key which I think is just so old fashioned and great. It is smaller than a normal desk which works great in our apartment.

So this desk inspired a huge spring cleaning at my house. I mean I couldn't put it away until everything else was clean right. So today we took a HUGE load of things to Goodwill and my beautiful new old desk stands proudly in the corner. I love garage sales!!

*Update The picture of us in the raft was taken after the long paddling section when we were pulling up to the dock. I was about to jump out which is why I am not holding my paddle. I didn't want to appear wimpy! I paddled the whole time. *

Well Sunday was our big adventure race. All I have to say is "Don't underestimate the power of the race!" It was hard. Harder than I was expecting, but it was also a blast. We got to the race around 7 A.M.

7 to 7:45 was spent setting up our gear and chatting

At 7:45 they had a quick meeting to go over the rules and then we got our maps.

So how it works is there were 17 checkpoints. You had to do each checkpoint in order as fast as you could.

"GO" was yelled and we took off. The first checkpoint said to run and get this clue. Well for some reason I thought it would be a short run and I kinda took off in a sprint. This sprint caused me to retear my meniscus. Fun!! So after that my running consisted of more of a hobbly walk.

We ran, paddled, and biked our way to a three hour and thirty three minute finish. Not bad I would say for the first time. We didn't win but we didn't lose.

It really was fun and exhausting. I had a hard time walking the next day because my muscles were so sore. Good times. I have more pics but I am having trouble making them big, so enjoy these for now!

Hey everyone!! Well Sunday is our big race. In case you have no idea what I am taking about Preston and I are doing a ten mile, four hour, adventure race on Sunday. It includeds 5 miles of biking, 4 miles of running, and 1 mile of paddling. I am so excited but wouldn't ya know it, I woke up with a sore throat today. So if it comes to your mind could you just say a little prayer that it won't get worse and that I will be well enough to race. Thanks. Easter was fantastic this year. We got to see Randy Travis perform at church, which was so great. We had the best ham dinner and the girls had so much fun.

Emmas first birthday was last Thursday. My family came down and we had a great party for her over the weekend. In keeping with tradition we went to Toys R Us and bought an obscene amount of toys for a one year old! Then we went home and played with all those new toys and ate cupcakes. It was a blast. The girls enjoying their cupcakes.

My family is coming in two days to celebrate Emmas birthday. There are about a million things I need to get done. So what have I done today?

Well first Isabella and I planted a strawberry plant and made a huge mess doing it. Then we made a table on the patio out of an ice chest and a boogie board. We sat out there for two hours and enjoyed a lunch that Isabella made herself. (It consisted of a piece of bread, some Doritos, and some sugar cookies) Yum.

Then I did a little window shopping on the internet. I am looking for some Easter dresses for the girls and I. I found this site for the girls. I wish I could find something that simple and elegant for me but no luck yet. Oh well I will keep looking or get to work on my to do list or something. What did everyone else do this afternoon??

Well you may have been wondering where we have been, or not. But the answer is we have been SICK! Today was our first real time out of the house in over a week. It started two Wednesdays ago when I took the girls to story time at a new library. Right when we walked in the door Isabella had one of her worst allergy attacks. These are almost always followed the next day by some form of sickness with a high fever. Sure enough on Thursday at around noon Isabella suddenly spiked a 103 fever. What followed was a night of high fever and horrible body aches for the poor thing. The next day I gave in and took her to the doctor because I felt so bad for her. He kindly told me it was an ear infection and gave her antibiotics and said "Don't worry its not contagious" Umm sure! The next day at again around noon Emma and I both spiked high fever and then the body aches. I have to say that I have never experienced aches like that before. They hurt so so bad. I was just laying on the couch moaning and Emma was in her crib moaning. I was so sad that my babies had to go through that. Thankfully the whole sickness only lasted about 3 days for each of us and Preston never got it. I was so happy to get out today. I will post some pics of what we did a little later. Hope everyone else is having fun.

Hints of spring. It has been so warm here this week. We have played outside everyday. We have these ponds at our apartment and they are full of ducks, birds, turtles, and fish. So we have enjoyed watching the wildlife.

Playing around in the sun!!! Ahh I love spring. Ok I love all the seasons, but I am so excited for some warm weather. The other day we had bbq ribs, mashed potatoes, and fresh lemonade for dinner and we ate with all the windows open. Ahhhh spring is here.

Ok so I was fiddling around on the internet, just searching for random things, when my search brought me to the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary college. I was looking around their site and I discovered that they offer a Bachelor of Humanities degree with a concentration of homemaking. I think this is the coolest thing ever. I wish so many more colleges would do this. The degree teaches you things like nutrition, sewing, and other homemaking skills as well as things like history and greek. It is just great. I would love to get a degree like that. It has always been my dream to go to college and get a degree but I can never decide what to get it in because I really want to be a stay at home mom. But how great for a college to finally come out with a degree program for a very worthwhile career path!! I love it.

Interview with Jim Caviezel

Preston Here!

Last Sunday night I went to a viewing of The Passion of the Christ with guest speaker Jim Caviezel who played the role of Jesus. They showed about 10 clips of the movie and Jim described what happened leading up to and during each clip. If you haven't seen the movie check it out. It is the most accurate portrayl of the last days of Jesus's life on earth. Clearly a film God was involved in making.

Jim Caviezel said when he was 19 years old God told him to become a actor and at the age of 33 J.C. made the movie. He is the most humble guy and his goal in the movie was that people would only see Jesus and not him. Jim told us he suffered both mentally and physically during the filming.

Satan put doubt in his mind from the beginning about, losing everything and never working in Hollywood again if he did the movie. Physically during the flogging scene two of the whips actually hit him. He was struck by lightning while filming the sermon on the mount. When he was carrying the cross there is a scene where he falls down and the cross roles over him pushing his face into the ground. When he gets up his real blood comes out of his nose and mouth in the scene. He also dislocated his shoulder during that scene and he said he reached up with all his might remembering all the mothers who lost their children over the years. Internalizing their pain he held the cross like a child and climbed the hill to his crucifixion.

During the scene with him on the cross he got hypothermia for several days. They brought in a doctor on the last day and while on the cross checked his heart and the doctor told him that he could die!! Jim said that he knew that God would protect him because it was His will to have the movie made so he just kept going.
It was a great uplifting experience and I would encourage anyone who has a chance to go hear him speak.

Isabella turns the big 3 next Sunday. I can hardly believe it. So this week we are dedicating to celebrating the end of being 2. Izzy made a list of things she wanted to do so we are
1. going to the park
2. going to the zoo
3. having a tea party
4. playing with Emma
5. and making muffins.
That should keep us busy! And all the fun ends with a trip to Disneyland! I will post pictures as the festivities progress. Goodbye 2!!!

Oh what a long night it was last night. Isabella woke up in the middle of the night with a high fever. She reacts very strangely to fevers. She gets rapid heartbeat, tremors in her body, and weird hallucinations. So we spent quite some time convincing her that there were no wolfs in her bed or ants crawling on her. She told me at one point that she wanted to go get gas. If it wasn't kinda scary it might be funny how weird she acts. She seems better today but she has been on Tylenol all day so it is hard to tell. The whole experience really got me thinking though on how much God has blessed us with our babies health. Isabella has only been sick a handful of times and nothing really bad, and Emma hasn't gotten sick yet. I am just really thankful for that because I hate it when they are sick. Anywhoo just wanted to share some thanksgiving. What are you all thankful for tonight??

On Sunday Preston got the opportunity to go to a viewing of The Passion of the Christ. My heart is so heavy writing this post today. Please pray for this sweet family. Their beautiful baby was taken home to Jesus today. She was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer less than a month ago. It really makes me realize how precious time really is. That could have easily been one of my sweet babies that God decided to take home or anyones. This weekend we went up to the Sandia mountains and rode the tramway. It was one of those experiences where once your feet are planted firmly back on the ground you can look back and think "Oh that was a lot of fun", but during the ride you are holding on with a white knuckle grip. You know what I am talking about!!! Yeah I was terrified. But everyone else had a great time and I did too once it was over. There is the thing we were riding in.

Uhggg!!! I have been trying to post my christmas pics for days now but I seem to be having techinal difficulties. They will be here soon, promise. Anywhoo we are in New Mexico now! We have spent the last few days just setting up home. Its been fun and scary. Moving to a new place always gives me a few days of anxiety! Finally! We arrived in Albuquerque New Mexico last night. Today was spent apartment hunting and we are all ready to move in tomorrow. Then it is on to California!! The drive was great. We didn't get any snow or rain which was so nice. We also got to stop at the Opryland hotel in Tennesee, which was so fun. I have one pic from there but other than that I don't have any because I won't get my marvelous new camera until we get to California. But I am so looking forward to using it and posting lots more pics. I also wanted to say thank you to everyone who came by to congratulate me on my win. Well on Friday we are leaving Virginia for the next chapter in our crazy adventure. I have a feeling the next few days are going to be really busy so I thought I would post now. What an awesome journey Virginia has been. We have been able to go on some great trips while we were here. It has been so much fun. But more importantly is the spiritual journey Preston and I have taken here. I feel closer to God now than I ever have before and I have learned so much.

"But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor dust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through not steal" Mat 6:20

I have read this scripture a thousand times in my life but I really understand it now. Its all about serving Him and others in your lives. This is a world filled with sick and dying kids, people who can't worship freely, and a million other terrible things. And God blesses us with gifts to use to aid those people and bring Him to them. Whether those gifts are, time or monetary or whatever. I know this sounds so generic but it is just so true. God has brought some amazing people into my life during my time in Virginia. People who understand this scripture so much better than me. People who spend their time and money helping others, serving others. I pray now that I can do God justice in dedicating my life, the life he blessed me with, to serving his causes.

I am having a hard time really portraying the power of all I have learned on the computer, but I hope you all understand. I just want to give back, for all the blessings God has given me, and I really learned that out here in Virginia.

I will definitely miss the beautiful fall colors here, and the Moms club, and Disneyworld only 12 hours away! But I am so excited to see New Mexico and explore all it has to offer. So I ask for your prayers for a safe journey and hopefully I can post along the way.

OK so cookie baking is done. I think I may be sick!! I definitely ate to many cookies. Everything turned out great. We didn't get as many sugar cookies as planned because when I left the room to check on Emmy, Izzy decided to make a sculpture out of the cookie dough, some plug outlet covers, some dirty spoons, and some other household items. Needless to say we didn't really want to eat it after that. Hey at least she is creative right!! Well I am going to go drink some milk. Hope you all have a sweet day.

Today the girls and I are making our Christmas cookies. It smells so yummy in here. I would post pics but we haven't got a new camera since ours was stolen. Anywhoo, this year I am deviating from my usual. My Grandma had recipes that she passed down to my mom and then me. I always try to make those but they just never turn out as good as my mom makes them. So this year I am making some traditional and some new recipes. The menu is Sugar Cookies (just so Izzy can decorate them), Chocolate chip (because they are Prestons fave), Pecan tassies, and Peppermint pinwheels. The pinwheels are a new recipe courtesy of Paula Deens show. The dough is chilling but it smells great so far. I will let everyone know how they turned out. Yummy!!

Eleven days left until we are packing up the car and heading across the country. The final destination was up in the air for awhile so I haven't posted where we would be headed. As long as nothing crazy happens between now and then though are final destination is......Albuquerque, New Mexico. We will be living there for about seven or eight months. I am feeling excited, and a little sad to be leaving Virginia. I will be posting about that later. But I am excited for the next chapter in New Mexico and to see what that state has to offer!!!! Oh what a fun Thanksgiving we had. I was afraid it wasn't going to be to good because we are to far away to go see any family. But we just stayed home, watched the Macys parade, and had a huge dinner. I am so thankful for my little family and it was so great to spend the day just enjoying them. And then today is Black Friday. I love black friday!! Isabella and I got up at 3:30am and were to the mall at 4am. We had such a great time together and we shopped till we dropped. I am almost done with all my xmas shopping. I didn't buy anything for Preston or the girls yet because we are moving across the country on December 19th so I didn't want extra to bring but everyone else is almost done!!! Yippee. Oh yeah and more on the move in a later post!! Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!

Well right now I have some time to kill since I am sitting outside the door to the girls room listening to them. I moved Emma and Izzy into the same room today. This is the first nap they have taken at the same time in the same room. I put them both in there awake because I wanted to see how they fell asleep in the same room. I am a little worried that they may never go to sleep or stay asleep. I had to move Em out of our room though because every tiny noise she makes wakes me up and I need some sleep!! Hopefully this will work out! Nobody is crying so that is good. If anyone has any tips on this they would sure be appreciated. Thanks. Bye for now!!

We're Back!!!!!!!

And tired!!! What an amazing trip. We had so much fun!!! I am so proud of the girls. They held up great and had a blast. I had plans to go back to the hotel every afternoon and nap but the girls never needed to. We went to the park five days in a row and four of those we stayed open to close. The girls were happy and laughing the whole time. It was so fun to see Isabellas face when she got to meet her favorite Disney characters. She was in heaven. We went to the beach too and the girls loved it. Emma got to swim in a pool and the ocean for the first time. She loved it and she loved all the Disneyworld rides. Oh what a fun time. Ok beware of picture overload!! The girls on the last day. Yeah we wore them out!

Ok so I am definitely against abortion. Pro-life all the way. Or at least I can say that today. Two things have happened of late that have really opened my eyes to that. I always knew that I would never get an abortion but never thought much about what others did. Well now I feel like I need to share some information. I hope no one is offended by this I am just sharing information, not judging!!

1. Birth control like the pill, the shot and IUDs have three ways of protecting against pregnancy. The first two are fine. They just keep the egg from ever being fertilized. The third way is to change the lining of the uterus so that it can not sustain a fertilized egg. So basically what this means is after a egg is fertilized it will travel to the uterus and DIE! Now I know everyone thinks differently but I believe life starts when the egg is fertilized. This is when the baby gets the chromosomes that determine eye color, hair color and other things. Wow I don't even know what to say. It just shocked me. I had no idea that is how it worked. Don't believe me look it up yourself, it is true.

Light the Night!

Last night Isabella and I did Light for the Night. This is a walk to raise money and awareness for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. It was fun and touching. I was so proud of Izzy because she did great during the walk and had a blast before. Here she is dancing!!

Book fair and emmy

Last Saturday we went to a Book Fair for kids. It was the coolest thing. Each vendor was set up with a craft for kids. So Izzy got to make a scrapbook, plant a plant, make a bookmark, take a picture of herself and more. She also got some free books and took a picture with Clifford. I got to volunteer at the Moms club booth and help kids make scrapbooks. It was a great day. I just love these pics of Emma and wanted to post those too!!!

Farm Day

On Friday Izzy, Emmy and I went to Greenfield farm. The farm was shut to anyone but the Moms club I am part of and it was so fun. They had a awesome play area set up for the kids, we saw tons of animals which Iz loved, and we took a hayride. Each kid got to take a pumpkin home. It was so much fun!! Izzy as a flower

Apple Festival

Saturday morning we went to the apple festival.It was fun. We got to pick lots of apples and try yummy samples of things like habanero jelly. MMM.. We also bought some delicious snickerdoodle flavored coffee. It was a great time.

On Saturday after we went to the Apple festival we went to Monticello. This was the home of president Thomas Jefferson. It was so interesting and fun. Thomas Jeffersons grave
